Are non-cluster jewels and cluster jewels worth it?

Hi i am a newbie in path of exile, and i just want to check: are both non-cluster jewels and cluster jewels worth focusing on? Since they have a lot of benefits but require quite a lot of skill points to invest on.
I would appreciate any useful advice for them.

Cluster jewels are "worth it" but are expensive (currency-wise) in my opinion... I'd say they're an option for the more wealthy.

Normal jewels are worth picking up, yes. Here's my personal criteria, probably generally fits other people as well?:

- I don't choose my skill tree path based on jewel slots.
- If a jewel slot costs 2 nodes to acquire, I get it.
- If a jewel slot costs 3 nodes to acquire, I consider it (depending on whether or not there's more important stuff I'm aiming for in my tree).
- Jewel slots 4 or more nodes away probably aren't worth it.

Some of my builds have 5 jewel slots, some have 2.
the answer to that is....

sometimes?

Cluster jewels CAN provide more power than the regular tree, IF you have a good cluster for your build.

a large cluster jewel would ideally look like this. 8 passives total. 2 jewel sockets and 3 notables. that is the MOST power any given large cluster can add.

regular jewels also need to be evaluated. on any build that i make, if i can get a jewel socket for 2 passive points, i will. because getting %life and 2 dps mods will make that more efficient than almost any other 2 points i could invest in the tree.

this would be a fine jewel any melee character with a shield.

there are also unique jewels with a wide array of benefits. my build this league 100% REQUIRED
. so i had to dedicate a jewel slot just for that.

speaking of unique jewels, which one works best for each of the classes? since a lot of them only benefit certain skills and what not

Classes have nothing to do with it. It depends on what skill you are playing and what ways you use to scale the damage.

Unique Jewels are much like other Unique Items, although maybe not as bad (maybe 33% as bad) - 99.9% of the ones you drop are going to be worthless to you, because they'll have low market value and likely won't be applicable to your build. Unique in this game as a general rule means things that aren't possible on Rares, but just because they aren't possible, doesn't mean that they're better. In fact, one of the selling points in this game is that Rares are often better than Uniques, although they've probably skewed much too far in the other direction in the current realm of balance.

Basically, you only want to use Unique (Jewel) items if you need it as a build-enabler. Many builds will not use any Unique Jewels, and some builds use no Uniques at all.

Some Unique Jewels that I have heard are strong:
Brawn - only if you are making a Strength or Dexterity stacking build.
Conqueror's Efficiency - only if you are stacking reduced mana reservation. Note that due to the way POE rounds, if you have just this Jewel and nothing else, you might get no benefit from it for mana reservation.
Thread of Hope - allows for passive tree pathing shenanigans that are pure power.
Watcher's Eye - this is a rare/expensive jewel, and tends to give insane benefits IF you get a well-rolled one (i.e. that grants bonuses for popular auras that work with popular skils).

Some Jewels that I like:
Clear Mind - I think it's been nerfed, but I like the fantasy of giving up your auras for pure damage (nice for Mind over Matter builds).
Static Electricity - It may have been meta in the past, not sure. As a hipster, stacking flat lightning damage other than in HOWA builds is kind of a fun idea, but I've never been able to make it take off.
Reckless Defence - I'm a Block addict. Nuff said. Often, I find that I end up dying more due to the increased crits taken, so I don't often use this in finished builds. Bit sad; true min/maxers can probably mitigate the crit penalty elsewhere. Used to be meta, I believe.
Spreading Rot - Blight is a cool skill.
Frozen Trail - Frostbolt is a cool skill.

I wish there was a Frostbolt skin that made it something other than a weird bubble attack.

Just a simple icy, sharp... ... icicle would make me happy. And it pierces everything, so it makes sense, etc etc.

It just has such a weak feel to it the way it is, even if it did 12 billion damage a hit.

Ok then i will stick to yellow jewels then, cluster or not if i want to improve my character on their strong points rather than use unique ones which are very specific in their boosts.

But then some questions:
1)which is better? Yellow items with 2 influences or uniques
2)for the influences which ones do i use for my gear for the seven classes?

Again, your approach is fundamentally incorrect. Classes have nothing to do with what gear you need, and nobody can tell you what influence mods or uniques are useful without knowing what build you are playing and how you want to scale your damage.

You should decide on a main skill that will deliver the majority of your damage (if you play a minion build or a non-ailment damage over time build you can get two with a 2H-weapon) and then figure out ways to improve the damage of that skill. Normally the choice of which class you pick comes after that.

PoE is a very complex game, and the number of skills and ways to scale them with a single class is far higher than the number of classes that can scale a single skill. If you try to get generic class-dependent advice, it will not be useful at all because of how much possible variation there is.
IMHO all delirium jewels are worthless. To gat something from any jewel You need to spent two skill points - first on socket and then another one on jewel. Thats just wasting points. IMHO.
