Vaal Storm Call

The gem itself, is fantastic. Excellent damage, great with a double cast from echo, its fun and easy added damage output on bosses, rares and extra large mobs for low cost. The problem is it still hasn't been updated to more than 1 charge, the reason given being "we want you to get all the hits out of each cast" is what i was told when i questioned. Well here's the thing, you can either leave the durations being tied together as a balance feature so people can cast multiple times in quick succession at the cost of the later casts ending early, therefor being "spike skill" it was intended to be. OR you can separate the durations so they all go to the end of their duration. 3 charges at the very least PLEASE.
Theory craft, its why I have used all 24 character slots and the strangest builds you'll ever see.
Anyone tested if CONC effect increases the dmg of the lightning bolts or if its just the dmg of the explosion in the end?
So far I've been using using two separate Vaal Storm Call gems during leveling in Normal and it has been the most fun I've had in ages. Basically you'll pop one, it destroys everything around it in a few seconds, and you'll have the second VSC (or both of them!) up and ready for the next pack. I'm supporting two VSC with Spell Echo and Inc Duration in a 4l.

Not sure if it will keep its unbelievable AoE clearing capability in Cruel/Merciless, but the damage scaling still looks good so at worst it'll be my go to skill for bosses.

Has about 1/2 potential of Vaal Ice Nova but with only 1/4 cost. What's more, it can be cast from a distance. Pretty nice Vaal Skill.

I am not confident in whether or not damage modifiers relating to Area of Effect influence the lightning bolts produced by this skill. The wiki even contradicts itself.
amazing skill. i use it all the time on my lvl 81 lightning witch like this:



if it crits it destroys everything in the area of effect except maybe high hp bosses like 74 vaal, 74 dominus and so on.

i feel this skill is perfect as it is. i would not change anything about it. it is very powerful and recharges quickly.

five out of five stars from me. only thing i would like is an alternate skill effect or two added to the shop.

The double resource change in the awaking patch has nearly ruined my summoner witch... alongside with the (further) nerf to Flesh Offering. She previously run VSC(with EE + curse)+ Flesh Offering + Vaal Haste combo to deal with difficult or large horde of monsters. Oftentimes it was adequate to use the previous two only. Now VSC needs 32 soul in Merciless, which means literally I have little to no chance to use Vaal Haste. I'd rather have its damage halved than what is in its current state(for its auxiliary uses like EE, shock, curse, trigger Herald of Ice/Lightning etc).
